1st day of school

April 30, 2007

Well it was the very first day, of the next 12 years, of school, for Talissa. I got a photo of her standing in front of the school sign and she looks so little *boohoo*:( We took Talissa to her classroom (Room 7) and put her name badge on. Her teacher, Mrs Powell, organised the children and told them their first activity. Talissa grabbed a box of letter blocks – looked kinda like Lego – and a board and sat down quite content to get started. I think the transition visits make such a difference with the kids settling in because it doesn’t feel stressful at all (for the child or the parent) and the just enjoy themselves. Her class seems quite small, which for Talissa, is a good thing. Talissa is the sort of child who thrives on routine & the not knowing what’s going to happen upsets her quite a bit. I think the first week will be her learning & settling in period and once her routine is all set then I think she will do very well & thrive on school. She is a very inquisitive little girl & has already asked me the question “how did we get here” and she meant the Earth and the universe 😯

Here is another LO that I finished for the Scrap’N’crazy cybercrop. This was Dee’s 2, 4, 6 challenge. We had to use 2 photo’s 2 letters or words (4 letters or words/6 letters or words) in our title and 6 of the same embellishment eg: flowers, buttons ect. I found it a little bit hard to use 4 different PP’s but using PP from the same range helps a lot as they are all coordinating. These photo’s are from Talissa’s 5th birthday (11th of March) In the photo on the left Tissa looks like a real goof but she was just really happy!!
Remember you have till midnight, tonight, WST, to get your DT entries into Scrapbooking Sketches Aussie Style.
Well that’s it for now.
Take care all.
