Talissa’s 8th Birthday

March 13, 2010

Talissa’s 8th birthday party was a great hit with the kids 🙂

We had 4 children + Tissa and Conner and 6 seemed like the perfect number for our home. Any more and it would have been a complete shambles I think 😉
They all had a great time, they were all so well behaved, no one was upset and no injuries, so all-in-all it was 100% successful in my book 😆

I stitched the lollybags out of blue, pink, yellow & green gingham and they looked so cute 🙂

[if anyone wants instructions on how I made them just let me know – I’m always willing to share and they are so quick and easy to make]

Talissa wanted a donut cake from the Donut King but I balked at $45 and we compromised and bought 3 packs of 6 different donuts from Woolies (total cost $8) seems much healthier to my purse and the effect (personally) was the same and Talissa was more than happy with it.

We made cupcakes and Fairybread and homemade sausage rolls (Thanks Mark & Sue) and it was all eaten up. Yum!
[I got this cupcake holder from Coles for $7 – absolute bargain!!]

We played musical statues, pass the parcel and finished off with a Pinata…which let me tell you, the kids all had 3 or 4 goes at busting that sucker open and it was never gonna happen. Hooley Dooley it was STRONG but we got there in the end. We put it on the ground where the kids beat the ‘stuffings’ out of it 😆

Check out the air under Talissa’s feet, the shut eyes and the classic expression on her face – totally cracks me up 😆

Conner also seems less than impressed with Pinata bashing 😆

Talissa had one friend stay longer and they were just great.

It was a GREAT day. We are all very happy and finished off with sausage rolls for dinner and now I can relax!
